Being based in the UK it is difficult at the moment not to have noticed something going on, what with all the bunting & flags. The Jubilee weekend heralds the start of a summer of celebrating with the Olympics being celebrated soon after.
Having trained trained at the Royal School of Needlework I have always had a healthy fascination with the coronation, the robes were embroidered with gold by the RSN.
When we did our training as apprentices we had to work our own piece of Coronation Goldwork, so if the time that we were needed to work another we would know how to do it. We we told if the call came we were expected to come & help, I never thought the call would come in for a Royal wedding dress!
Anyway Coronation Robes, each motif used on the robes had significance, the Queens had acorns, olive leaves & loralls. This message signified peace, prosperity & growth; the hopes our monarch had for her reign. My piece had more elements from the Queen Mothers Robes, those robes featured flora & fauna from the commonwealth countries. There was no underlying message on these robes as the Queen Mother was not monarch but consort.
So in celebration of this Jubilee year I have designed a celebratory sampler, something I’ve not been hiding! So as I’m feeling very celebratory myself with all the great changes I’ve been making in my life I am releasing a discount code for this sampler. It will be active from today & for the whole of June and will give you 25% off. When you reach the checkout put discount code Diamond in to recieve your discount. Don’t forget I have added details in the instructions of how to simplify areas down if you don’t want to be too challenged.
